No more dull skin days

No more dull skin days

Post summer skin? If you have tired, dull skin, pigmentation, fine lines or uneven skin tone, the cooler months are the perfect time to have a TCA peel. How to choose, who to go to and what you can expect to pay are questions you will probably want answers to and we welcome your enquiry. Skin peels have been available for many years and most of us have heard stories about them - harsh, painful treatments which leave people scurrying for cover, applying soothing cream and literally peeling layers of skin. Things have changed!

What is a TCA peel? Trichloroacetic acid, is a medium depth peel, controlled by using a lower or higher percentage as necessary for the skin being treated. The area being treated and the depth of the peel will determine how many sessions you will need, but generally patients have two to three, around two – four weeks apart. Administered by our specialist nurses, TCA peels are overseen by our dermatologist, Dr Amy Stanway. “The TCA peel results in a gradual, controlled peel that reveals fresh new skin and a youthful appearance due to the stimulation and regeneration of skin cells. Peeling of treated skin usually occurs around four to seven days after the peel, allowing most clients the ability to continue working and engage in normal social activities during their treatment course. We discuss the depth of peel and and recovery time at your first appointment,” advises Dr Stanway. If you would like to freshen your facade, enliven your skin and reveal a more youthful you, contact us for your appointment now.
